Wytchwood Review: The quests in this game are complex and multi-layered but the game always gives you a nudge forward with a waypoint on the very handy and helpful map screen or by providing enough clues as to where to find specific creatures materials or components, to craft the spells, and regions you need you will often be racking your brain trying to concoct these elixirs charms or various hexes but it’s always rewarding since you have to think outside the box such as using these smoke pellets on skeeter bugs together their wings or a small stick trap to get a bird feather or some meat to lure a giant swamp beast it’s moments like this that make which would shine and feel unlike any other indie game that I have played plus you have your witch eye sense this supernatural witch power allows you to highlight items in the world to find out all about its details, properties, and most importantly it’s weaknesses.Įach time you find a weakness it adds that new spell or region to your grimoire so that you can collect it somehow in the future there is just a natural and organic sense of progression and accomplishment in this game that directly ties into the narrative of helping characters to ultimately find out who died so you can get their soul for the pact with your crazy dastardly goat friend. Another have you helping a large ox who owns a picturesque autumn-tinged farm by speaking to bandits who stole his family. Each of these quests provide substantial content and will keep you busy for a good deal of time I was constantly surprised by how many parts there were to each quest often having you solve simple solutions with complex regions or spells.įor example, one quest called the leech requires you to harvest and craft specific concoctions in order to open up an obelisk gateway and to obtain a death certificate from an off-kilter doctor. Since your ultimate goal is to obtain the 12 souls it means you are out searching the world for citizens to help. The game does do a fantastic job at teaching you the ropes early on where you learn to gather items craft simple spells and items utilize your toolbar and solve some basic quests. Beautifully crafted areas gameplay comes from filling your grimoire with discovered spells and regents in order to solve quests for the various inhabitants of the realms you are going to be crafting a lot in this game as you adventure and explore because almost every creature plant or random item you encounter more than likely needs some sort of spell or region to interact with or collect.
Wytchwood Review: The gameplay is the story beats and unique gameplay situations which would by and large be an adventure game that is all about discover ability your main goal is to venture forth from the confines of your overgrown witch home area to forests swamps, fields, forms, mountains, graveyards, plus many other. Today we are going to look at Wytchwood, Wytchwood is a gorgeously lush and utterly enjoyable adventure game starring an articular witch who finds herself awoken by a dastardly black goat upon realizing she has made a pact with this goat after falling asleep for what seems to be months the witch now has to seek 12 souls to bring back to the goat in exchange for a beautiful maiden who lies sleeping in a derelict tomb on the witch’s property I love the story here in which would because it was simple and to the point but keeps enough mystery at bay as you learn about your witchy powers, spells, regents, crafting, and exploration throughout the vibrant yet often spooky world.
